Houdini and Conan Doyle
Harry Houdini and Arthur Conan Doyle were once friends. Then they found themselves on opposite sides of a question neither could leave alone: are the dead really speaking to us? October's mail explores the friendship and eventual falling-out between the world's most famous escape artist and the creator of Sherlock Holmes. Their correspondence offers a glimpse into an extraordinary disagreement over mediums, séances, belief, and the limits of what can be known.
You get reprints of their original correspondence, a postcard with original art and a personal note, a zine exploring their friendship and their battle over spiritualism, and puzzles and small things found down research rabbit holes. Hand-sealed and posted to you anywhere in India.

How it works
Handmade package
Every package is designed personally around a curated letter exchange.
Pay once, or subscribe
Buy any edition outright, or prepay a 3- or 6-month run. Monthly subscribers receive a personal payment link each month: pay to continue, skip whenever you like, and nothing ever auto-charges.
Missed a letter? You can ask for it
Past editions are printed in small runs, so they sell out. Leave your name on any sold-out edition's page, and if enough people ask, a small reprint happens and a copy is posted to you.
Free delivery
Every package is posted to your door, free, anywhere in India.
Questions
What's the difference between subscribing and buying an edition?
A subscription reserves the current edition for you every month: Padma emails you a personal payment link, and once you pay, that month's letter is posted to you at the subscriber price of ₹399. Buying an edition is a one-off purchase for a specific month.
What does delivery cost?
Nothing. Every edition is posted to your door, free, anywhere in India.
Can I gift a subscription?
Yes. A gift is a fixed run of one, three, or six months, paid up front, with nothing charged to you afterwards. Add the recipient's address at checkout.
Can I cancel?
There is nothing to cancel, ever. Prepaid runs are one-time payments, and the monthly subscription works through a personal payment link each month. If you'd like to stop, simply don't pay, and nothing further happens.
Do you ship outside India?
Not yet, but international post is on its way. Subscribe and you'll be the first to know.
